It is close enough for a weekend break but distant enough from the hustle and bustle of city life with comfortable, affordable unique accommodation options. This 4-star graded guesthouse is located in the sandy bushveld wilderness. Crunching up the glinting shell pathway you can see across an indigenous garden and right out to sea, feeling pleasingly remote, and yet the few minutes’ drives from Paternoster to Farr Out is not what you would exactly call far.

Farr Out bed and breakfast has designed an east-facing spacious carpeted double bedroom (king-size bed or twin beds) at the ground level of the East Wing. You can witness the beautiful sunrise as well as moonrise. Fynbos will amaze your eyes from a private patio.

White Mussel – Feast your Eye on Landscaped Garden

White Mussel room at Farr Out B&B is a north-facing airy carpeted double bedroom (queen-size bed) at the ground level of the East Wing with views of the landscaped garden with Koi pond which can be enjoyed from a private terrace.

Wigwam Rising Moon – Glamping

Ever wondered what is “Glamping”? Glamping is a portmanteau of glamour and camping and describes a style of camping with amenities and, in some cases, resort-style services not usually associated with “traditional” camping. Meet your Hosts

Marion Lubitz, originally from Germany, was hooked on South Africa since her first visit in 1989. She moved permanently to the country in 1998 to dedicate herself to the tourist industry. From 2007 to 2010 she was the volunteer chairperson of Paternoster Village Tourism and implemented ie the tourism office in Paternoster. By now she is tackling more projects at Farr Out together with Deon.

Deon Van Schalkwyk is an authentic South African and with his passion for the West Coast, he convinced Marion to settle down in the quiet area of Paternoster in 2003. After 24 years of Air force duty, he called it a day to start a new life along the coastline. In 2009 he decided to study again and became a qualified Tour Guide for the Western Cape. This gave him the opportunity to take out the guests for casual strolls in the Beach Buggy to share the interesting stories and history of the West Coast.

Enjoy a continental breakfast buffet during the week consisting of various kinds of cold meats and cheeses, assorted bread, jams and honey, assorted cereals, juice, yogurt, and fruit salad. The kind of egg is “the egg of the day” which changes daily.

On weekends the “English Breakfast” is served to consists of bacon, sausage, eggs, mushroom/onion mix, assorted bread, jams and honey, assorted cereals, juice, yogurt, and fruit salad.

Breakfast on request. Rates exclude the use of a unique wood-fired Hot Tub, Beach Buggy Fynbos Safari, Healing Touch massages, and braai facilities.

Cancellation Policy:

• 22 days or more before the start of rental: Loss of deposit
• 21 days to 15 days before the start of rental: 50% of the total rental cost
• 14 days to 8 days before the start of rental: 75% of the total rental cost
• 7 days or less before the start of rental: 100% of the total rental cost
