Bathrooms:

• The Exclusive Lagoon Suites and Luxury Loft Rooms are double rooms, each room has a bathroom and they can only sleep 2 people in each room.
• 6 x Luxury Units with Self-catering facilities- 2 bathrooms.

Situated on the edge of the Knysna Lagoon in the center of Knysna and the Garden Route you will discover The Lofts Boutique Hotel.  This central location is perfect for our guests to enjoy the tranquillity of the Thesen Islands or to jump into the fun activities in the Garden Route.

Rooms

Our unique rooms offer our guests a luxurious living.  Each of the rooms is decorated in different themes true to the boutique hotel experience. Guests are able to choose between three different room types:

• Exclusive Lagoon Suites – these suites offer guests beautiful views of the Knysna lagoon.
• Luxury Loft Rooms – our loft rooms are situated on the northern side of The Boatshed with large balconies adding a sunny relaxed space for guests to enjoy.
• Luxury Units with Self-catering Facilities – the 2-bedroom 2-bathroom apartments have a fully equipped kitchen/kitchenette and a lounge area perfect for a family of 4.

If you are planning a special occasion, a golf trip, a cycle expedition, a family vacation or if you just need a couple of days for yourself then you will find what you are looking for at The Lofts.

Activities

There are several restaurants, activities, shops, and galleries within walking distance from the hotel all on Thesen Islands.  Spend a morning browsing through the shops, a mid-morning strolling through The Motorcycle Room, spend an afternoon kayaking, stand-up paddling or on an eco-tour of the lagoon and end your day with scrumptious food at a nearby restaurant all without leaving the island or having to climb into your car.

Reception

Our reception is open daily from 07:00 – 21:00 (September – April) and 07:00 – 19:00 (May-August).  Our team are all well informed and can easily assist guests with restaurant and activity recommendations or bookings.

More about The Loft

The Lofts is situated inside the historic boat shed.  This boat shed has been refurbished and the suites, shops, and spaces were built around the nearly 100year old wooden structure.  Due to this, The Lofts is unfortunately not wheel-chair friendly.

The Owner

The owner of The Lofts Boutique Hotel is a lady. After studying in the Free State Province, attending the University in Pretoria, and her post-graduate studies at Texas A & M University in Texashe, she completed her MBL studies through Unisa.

The studies included Home Economics, Interior design, Horticulture, and Business management and leadership. This versatile background enables one to successfully run a variety of businesses.  Pat Mulder finally chose the challenge of running a Boutique Hotel.

The knowledge gained during her studies and subsequent professional career, equipped her with front and back of house operations, food offering and decorating with an amazing awareness of space.

The Purpose of The Loft Boutique Hotel

The ambiance of the hotel is complemented by the sophisticated but comfortable choice of furniture as well as the utilization of a variety of plant materials.

The sole focus of the creation of and running of this Boutique Hotel is to offer a beautiful place and deliver a service to make people happy and have the desire to come back and experience the abundance of beauty, peace, and happiness.

The young energy and playfulness of the staff are encouraged while responsibility, consistency, and awareness is the daily agenda.

Cancellation policy

In the event of notification of cancellation, the following cancellation fee shall apply on the full booking:

• More than 30 days prior to arrival: 10% cancellation fee
• More than 7 days prior to arrival: 50% cancellation fee
• Less than 7 days prior to arrival: 100% cancellation fee
