• 6 Standard Rooms – Medium rooms, all with balcony, air conditioning, en-suite, shower over bath
• 5 Luxury Rooms – Larger rooms, fireplaces, air conditioning, under-floor heating, most with balcony or patio, large bathroom, separate bath & shower
• 2 Garden Cottages – Large Double Storey Suites. Downstairs consists of a large bedroom & bathroom which leads out onto a patio and private garden. Upstairs consists of a large lounge, mini-bar, tv with a private balcony, air conditioning
• 12 Villa Suites – Very large (100 sqm) with separate lounge from the bedroom and bathroom, 2 private balconies (or patios). Airconditioning, under-floor heating, fireplaces. Very exclusive facilities and finishes.

Set on the original site of Franschhoek’s first perfumery, our acclaimed Monneaux Restaurant is a Cape culinary classic. We look forward to welcoming you to Monneaux Restaurant, named after the main building which dates back to the year 1890, and was once a perfume-producing factory. The Monneaux Restaurant ranks among the top restaurants in Franschhoek and serves an inspired contemporary take on the classics.

The Area / Neighbourhood

Sitting peacefully amidst the Franschhoek mountains, you will find the home, and birthplace, of a true South African legend. Franschhoek is the birthplace of fine South African wines and gourmet cuisine with an international flavor. Franschhoek is abounded by wines farms and restaurants that nestle in the valley. Settled over 300 years ago by French Huguenots, the seeds of their labors still flourish today in the picturesque village and friendly people. The village is bounded by art galleries, craft shops, restaurants, cafes and all manner of other treasures just waiting for you to discover and wonder at.

Guest Access

All room types have their own lounge for guests to relax.

Outside area

Guests have access to all the gardens. The standard Rooms each has its own balcony. The Luxury Rooms (not all) have a balcony or terrace. The Garden Cottages have a terrace and a balcony. All Villa Suites have a balcony/terrace.

Getting Around

We offer a complimentary shuttle into town. We also offer airport transfers, wine tours, and transfers, to be booked in advance.

Parking

We offer secure parking with a 24-hour guard on duty.

Cleaning Arrangements

Please Note:

• Unfortunately, we do not allow pets on the premises.
• No smoking in rooms, smoking is allowed outside.
• Children under the age of 12 can only be accommodated with their parents in a Garden Cottage or a Villa Suite (on a Sleeper Couch) at a charge of R950 per child.
• Children over the age of 12 will be charged as an adult.
• We can only accommodate a maximum of 2 adults in any room type.

Deposits

For group bookings, extended stays and peak period stays the following deposit requirements will apply:

• 20% on the booking value to secure the booking within 1 month from the date the booking was made. Kindly forward POP for a 20% deposit in order for us to confirm the booking.
• A further 50% on the booking value 4 months prior to the arrival date. (Bookings made in less than 4 months prior to arrival date will require a 70% deposit on the booking value.)
• The balance 45 days prior to arrival date

For group bookings, extended stays and peak period stays the following cancellation fees will apply:

• Initial 20% deposit will be non-refundable in case of cancellation
• Cancellation between 120 and 46 days will carry a 70% cancellation fee on the value canceled.
• Cancellation in less than 46 days will carry a 100% cancellation fee on the value canceled.
• All cancellations to be in writing by email – telephonic cancellations are not accepted
• These conditions for groups override the standard conditions and cancellation rules of Franschhoek Country House
