Ideally suited for three couples, wanting to slow down, re-charge their batteries and shut down, The Albatross Beach House Vlees Bay is a place of “just being”, where you can be sure to find peace for the soul.
Beach: This house is situated right on the water with 180-degree views of crystal blue water, sparkling surf and pristine white sand that stretches on for miles as far as the eye can see. You can literally not get closer to the beach!
Family friendly: The house is family friendly with a real festive ambience and lovely beach-style decor.
Romantic: Both the patio and master bedroom looks right out onto the water, and this romantic setting makes it an exclusive getaway for couples.
Come and enjoy long walks on the private ivory sand beach, lie in the sun on the deck or wake up to the noise of seagulls and oystercatchers, enjoying themselves on the rocks. Go for an early morning swim and refresh your body with a cold shower outside whilst watching the whales and dolphins play in the surf.

About the Name
The Albatros Beach House was named after Alba Bouwer Coetzee, a renowned author of Afrikaans literature. The house has been in the Coetzee family for more than forty years.

An Albatross is a large white bird with long, strong wings that lives near the sea, found especially in the areas of the Pacific and South Atlantic oceans. “Albatros” is the traditional Afrikaans spelling of the word and they are known as one of the largest seagulls around our South African coasts.

Location
The picturesque little seaside village of Vleesbaai (or Vlees Bay) lies quietly hidden between the bays of Stilbaai and Mossel Bay, just north of where the Gouritz River mouths into the sea at the western end of the Garden Route. It is the ideal place for shell sampling, sun-drenched beach-filled holidays, safe swimming, leisurely walks, dolphin and whale spotting or exploring the nearby Fransmans Hoek Nature Reserve.

Vleesbaai is a private beach with only about 300 houses. Only home-owners and guests allowed – no day visitors, so it is the perfect break-away spot to relax and enjoy the warm ocean and beautiful beaches.

Mossel Bay is also within close proximity and can be reached within 15 minutes, where you can find all that could be required for shopping, restaurants and sightseeing.

This luxurious house has three double bedrooms. The Master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a shower, while the other two rooms share a separate guest bathroom with a shower and toilet. There is also an outside shower with a view, which is usually favoured by the whale and dolphin watchers.

All the rooms are fully equipped with percale cotton sheets, blankets and towels and each room are individually decorated with style.

The cosy living room has an indoor fireplace which can also serve as a braai (barbeque) and has sea facing windows that fold up and slides to the side, offering a feeling of being outside. From there you can step out onto the balcony and enjoy uninterrupted views of the crystal blue water, sparkling surf and the pristine white sand stretching for as far as the eye can see.

The lovely kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering and has bar stools so that everyone can sit around and talk while meals are being prepared.

The house has a rustic feel and a sensitive combination of stone, combined with the simplicity of earthly elements and special paint and plaster effects, blends in with the majestic Indian Ocean, as the only adornment.

Breakage Deposit: Please note that a refundable breakage deposit of R2000 will be charged on confirmation of the booking. This amount must be paid into the owner’s bank account that will be refunded within 2 weeks after check out.

Children: Regrettably, no children under 7 years old.
Pets: No pets permitted.
Smoking: No smoking in the house (there are several balconies and the patio for smoking)
