We recently visited Riebeek Kasteel to attend friends of ours’ wedding aniversary celebrations. It was a cool (yet hot) reminder of how beautiful the Swartland is in summer.
Riebeek Kasteel is a quaint little town bursting with culture and artisticly styled accommodation.
We stayed at the Kasteelberg Country Inn (watch out for a listing soon) and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We’ll update you when we release their listing in the new year.
Our party was at the Royal Hotel. What a great wedding venue! 10 years later and it’s even better (now with new accommodation suites added). We’ll try and add a listing for them too soon!
Riebeek Kasteel is the perfect getaway for a weekend out of Cape Town. Even for a day-trip it’s no more than a 2hr drive from Cape Town (more like 1.5hrs depending on where you start from).
Don’t leave Riebeek Kasteel without walking through the maze of little shops that sell a wide variety of gifts, fashion and fresh produce. Don’t leave the town without stocking up on some amazing olive oil too! Riebeek Kasteel is well known for it’s Olive Festival that next takes place 4-5 May 2019 (every year in May).
