About the area
Lambert’s Bay is a small fishing town situated 280 kilometres north of Cape Town, on the West Coast, in the Western Cape province of South Africa.

Lambert’s Bay also has plentiful birdlife. Only 100 metres offshore of Lambert’s Bay, you will find the modern gannet lookout at Bird Island. It is only accessible by ferry or across the breakwater. Some of the more popular species at this internationally acclaimed Bird Island include gannets and Cormorants.
There are several open-air restaurants along the coast here. Providing endless opportunites to experience seafood in the heart of crayfish country. As well as the unforgettable experience of traditionally prepared seafood right next to the shoreline, as the sun goes down.
Best time to visit
One of the best times to visit Lambert’s Bay is during between August and November, when you are likely to see the Dusky Dolphins and Southern Right Whales. This is also the time, when you can view the lush stretches of wild field spring flowers that the West Coast is famous for.
Lambert’s Bay is regarded as one of the best places to spot Heavyside dolphins all year round and anywhere along the bay.
