Getaways to Constantia
We list a selection of self-catering apartments and houses as well as guesthouses in Constantia to rent for the holidays, a weekend getaway or a romantic getaway break.
About the area
Constantia is one of the oldest Surburbs of Cape Town, and mainly consists of stately homesteads, long driveways and oak-lined streets, as well as country lanes and horses and a number of green belts for walking the dog or stretching your legs.
Dominated by farmland and vineyards until fairly recently, Constantia lies in one of the greenest, leafiest parts of Cape Town, with many walks and hikes that include the popular Alphen trail and the Tokai forest.
The Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens are also close by; the beaches of False Bay are only a short drive away, and numerous cellars surrounding the area, make up one of the Cape’s oldest wine routes.
Best time to visit
The best time to visit Constantia is during spring through summer, September to March (and even April), or stay a little longer to check out the Constantia Food & Wine Festival that happens every year in May. In order to avoid disappointment, it’s usually best to book at least 6 months in advance, especially if you are booking summer holiday rentals.
