Melkbos (Melkbosstrand) is a coastal suburb of Cape Town located about 35 minutes drive from central Cape Town along the West Coast.
Melkbos has a lovely small town charm to it and is located on a long stretch of white sandy beach. Van Riebeeckstrand is adjacent to central Melkbos and also a very popular kitesurfing, windsurfing and surfing beach.
Melkbos has several amazing restaurants that are worth a visit, especially if you are into seafood.
There are some worthy surf spots in and around Melkbos and also kite-surfing specifically.
Keep an eye on our blog for reviews & experiences in and around Melkbos.
Summer in Melkbos is from around November through March so that would be our recommendation for a visit.
December & January is peak season and gets quite busy, but the trade South Easterly wind offers prime kite- and windsurfing conditions in the area and the area has a lot of annual return visitors.
